Grotesque animal

A WIP sketch for a painting. I've got a bit of an obsession/fascination with brains at the moment, and it's been creeping into my sketches more and more lately.

I originally had the entire tail showing, but decided that cropping the image off on the right might add a little more interest and ambiguity.
