Perfume

Theatre poster assignment for class.
I chose to depict the book "Perfume" by Patrick Suskind.
The story revolves around the character of Jean Baptiste Grenouille, a man born with the most powerful sense of smell ever possessed by a human being, but with no individual odor of his own (a fact other people find disquieting). Jean Baptiste apprentices himself to a perfumer and becomes obsessed with procuring the perfect scent that will make people love him. In the process, he creates perfumes that powerfully manipulate human emotions, murdering 25 girls to take their scent.
I wanted to use the hair as a direct visual metaphor for Grenouille's complete intoxication from the scent of his victims while keeping his figure slightly menacing and creepy.
