Cricket Magazine
Hello folks.
I was recently given the opportunity to illustrate for the wonderful Cricket Magazine. I'd been wanting to do some work for these guys for a while, so when I got the email I squealed like a little school girl.
I was commissioned to do three pieces based on a semi-true story about a boy and a spectral jumping horse.
Here they are:

Cardiovascular Risk and Gender
A new editorial piece for Research News Magazine done for an article about Heart Disease in men and women with diabetes. It was quite challenging distilling such a complicated concept into a simple and readable image. I wanted to represent the illness with a symbol that was both eye-catching and inherrently malignant, so in the end I decided a snake would be an appropriate metaphor. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end. Its always great when an assignment coincides with your personal aesthetic.
It was also pretty cool illustrating for a magazine alongside greats such as Jillian Tamaki and Genevieve Simms!
Thanks to Lara Minja and the fine folks over AHFMR for giving me such a fun assignment.
