Here is a little 10 page comic that took much too long.
It's kind of based off of my 6 year old self and my life goal (at the time) to live in a lake and be a mermaid.
This is my first comic and it was a difficult yet enjoyable process. I definitely have a lot more respect for the medium now.
I hope you guys get a kick out of it.
Now time to get back to painting!

This is really great Laura. This is more than worthy to be submitted for publishing of some sort. Ive seen comic shorts receive awards for content half as good as this.
Good kids story, with a little harsh reality.
Hey Laura,
Saw this on apedogs and I really loved it! Can't believe you've never done this before, good work :D
-Tom
edit: wow I can't not type ungood

Holy crap! Thanks, everyone!
Dan: Yeah, I'm definitely going to use this as a promotional piece to submit to children's book publishers and the like. Hopefully I can get something that way :)
Good!
So good!! I love the warts and snaggletooth closeups on page 6. And the way you handled the dialogue was perfect. People gotta see this.
Dwuff here from Deviantart... this is absolutely LOVELY work!! I'd probably buy comic book that had this in it!
heartwarming story and so well painted. great job!
First comic!?! It's amazing, Laura. Not just the art either, you have a real talent for storytelling.
I feel so bad for the mermaid.
First comic?!
This is a beautiful and very creative work.
You hooked me with the first few pages on deviantArt. Thanks for posting the rest here.

Amazing!
Best thing ever!
I love how you you treated the dialogue, it works so well!
You ought to submit this to Kazu Kibuishi and the folks who put out the "Flight" series. It's right up their alley.
So beautiful ! I love it !
I found this on deviantART and I have to say, I love this comic!
I especially love how you used the pictures in the speech bubbles instead of words. :D
FIRST! Congratulations on the DD! Your comic it's amusing and beautiful! Yet I have to admit that I feel a bit sad for the ugly triton. How come I've never saw you blog before?
That was wonderful!

This comic is so pretty, and a very clever use of no actual dialogue.
Fantastic sequential art, and the use of visual dilog is genius. You've got a very friendly and compelling style. More please!
That poor monster.

Aw! I so wish this had a happier ending, but it was beautiful and adorable nonetheless. Really really great!

Is that how it ends with the mermaid being sad and lonely😢 that's so sad all she wants is a friend😭
